Reports: Titans to start QB Mason Rudolph over injured Will Levis

The Tennessee Titans will start quarterback Mason Rudolph on Sunday against the host Buffalo Bills in place of injured starter Will Levis, according to multiple media reports Saturday.

Levis sprained his right shoulder on Sept. 30 against the Miami Dolphins and after a bye week, he played last Sunday in a 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Levis was listed as questionable for the Buffalo game after being limited at practice on Wednesday and Friday. He was a full participant Thursday, as he was in the prior week.

Now the Titans (1-4) are expected to make Levis inactive against the Bills (4-2). They elevated quarterback Trevor Siemian from the practice squad on Saturday for game day.

Rudolph, 29, has played in one game in his first season with Tennessee, replacing the injured Levis and going 9 of 17 for 85 yards in a 31-12 victory at Miami.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Rudolph in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State. He went 8-4-1 in starting 13 of 22 games played for the Steelers from 2019-23, totaling 3,085 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 63.5 percent passing (291 of 458).

Rudolph also started one playoff contest for the Steelers last season, completing 22 of 39 passes for 229 yards, two TDs and one interception in a 31-17 loss at Buffalo in an AFC wild-card game.

Levis, 25, has started all five games this season and is 83-of-125 passing (66.4 percent) for 699 yards, five TDs and a league-high seven interceptions.

The Titans picked Levis in the second round of the 2023 draft out of Kentucky. He went 3-6 as a starter and threw for 1,808 yards and eight TDs with four picks.
